NSIC Press Release

 Breakthrough!

After lengthy discussions over more than four months the Metropolitan Athletics Congress of NYC and The Armory Foundation have agreed to an historic collaboration in the presentation of the National Scholastic Indoor Championships (NSIC).

“The Armory is committed to ensuring the success of the NSIC meet here at The New Balance Track and Field Center, especially as it approaches the 25th Anniversary in March 2008.  This coming NSIC meet should be one of the greatest indoor high school meets ever held,” announced Armory Foundation president Dr. Norbert Sander.

“We will do everything in our power to assist the MAC in their presentation of this great competition and will help create an exciting and memorable experience for the athletes, their families, and friends,” Dr. Sander continued.

"MAC, founder of the NSIC in 1983, is elated to be joining forces with the Armory Foundation in making the 25th (Silver) Anniversary the most exciting and memorable High School Indoor track and field event of 2008," said Adam Sanford, USATF-Metropolitan President.

We look forward to working with the Armory Foundation and Dr. Sander in making this an historical event that the athletes, the coaches and the spectators will cherish for all lifetime," Sanford added.

ArmoryTrack.com will carry a six month build up to the NSIC in March with interesting articles, personal reflections of past champions, and historical footage.  Plans are being made for live coverage of the meet.  Stay tuned as HS track and field continues to expand and prosper.
