 Day 2 Highlights

The banners of every school were hung from the upper seating rails all around the Armory.  Cornell signs read "Go Big Red" and "CU" at the finish line!  A banner for Brown University boldly stated "Bears from Brown can bring any cometition down!"  Still others from Dartmouth boast "Real ivy is Green."  On Sunday every event was a final and the tension in the stands was high.  Throughout the day and evening updated results and photos were posted on this site.  Fans checked back regularly and joined the crown shouting Go Yale and U Penn - get the job done!

Women's Pentathlon – U Penn has reason to celebrate Shani Boston’s victory in the Pentathlon; her final score is 3708 points.  There was a close duel for Harvard teammates Julia Pederson (3434 points) and Jennifer Mirabal (3421 points) who finished second and third.  All three had cleared the same 1.58-meter height in the high jump.  The defining event for Boston was the shot put where her huge toss of 13.85-meters (784 points) outdistanced Pederson’s 10.57-meters (567 points) and Mirabal’s 9.96-meters (527 points).

Women's High Jump – Cornell's Sarah Wilfred broke the Armory Collegiate record as she won the women's high jump with a 1.87-meter effort.

Men's Mile – Columbia fans were on their feet as Liam Boyan crossed the finish line in 4:08.59.  Princeton teammates Michael Maag and James O’Toole finished second and third with times of 4:09.46 and 4:10.62 respectively.

Men's 4X800 Relay – The team of Guzman, Kiley, Scotland, and Keijala brought home a victory for U Penn and set a new Armory Collegiate record by finishing the mens 4X800 relay in 7:30.87.

Men's Weight Throw – Alex Pessala, Princeton, was one of the many athletes who achieved the ECAC/IC4A qualifying standard during the meet.  He threw 18.24-meters to win the mens weight throw.

Men's Heptathlon – U Penn scores another multi-event title as Kyle Calvo grabs the men's heptathlon title with a final score of 5427 points.  He excelled in the high jump (8.39-meters and 886 points) and the long jump (7.25-meters and 874 points).  Princeton's Duane Hynes finished second with 5325 points and Max Westman finished third for U Penn with 5239 points.
