Circle For Life

NewYork-Presbyterian
Hospital of Columbia and Cornell Presents
At The Armory Track and Field Center

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital of Columbia and Cornell presented the Circle for Life a transplant awareness celebration which brought together patients, donors and medical staff, at the Armory on May 4, 2007.
Hundreds of organ donors, surgeons and transplant recipients came together on Friday May 4th, to celebrate, raise awareness and spotlight the clinical innovations that have helped make the field of transplantation so successful at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.
The choir from Eleanor Roosevelt Intermediate School 143M in Washington Heights, led by Ms. Charmaine Yates lifted everyone’s spirits with their youthful voices.
It was a touching seen of people coming together to hug and thank those who changed their lives forever. Large cards were set up around the room, where recipients and their families wrote touching notes expressing hope, gratitude and thanks.
Armory Foundation Board member Maria Luna was in attendance.
Congressman Charles B. Rangel, Assemblyman Denny Ferrell, and NewYork-Presbyterian’s Dr. Herbert Pardes, President and CEO, were but a few of the luminaries who graced the stage during the event.
NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital performed more organ transplants last year than any other hospital in the country.
