The Armory runs the busiest and most successful after school sports location in NY.  For thousands of young people, their time at The Armory represents the entirety of their physical education experience; their only opportunity to engage in life building athletic pursuits while experiencing healthy interaction with other athletes. The Armory is dedicated to help all children overcome the growing problems of asthma, obesity and diabetes and we need your help to win this race.

Located in Upper Manhattan on 168th Street and Fort Washington Avenue, The Armory is a civic jewel, an example of urban renewal at its best.  Four days a week, young runners train at this world-class facility, run towards a healthy future and learn about discipline, dedication and determination. During indoor track season, The Armory hosts 100 jam-packed track meets for runners of all ages. Altogether 150,000 athletes a year get to train and compete on the finest and fastest indoor track in America.

The Armory is all aboutRunners helping Runners.” Using running to help underserved and deserving young athletes take the road to higher education; the Armory College Prep Program is a shining example of how we keep young runners on course to a more productive future - fulfilling our mission of “keeping kids on track”

Every year, 150 of our high school athletes are targeted to join Armory College Prep, where they receive hands on support, SAT prep classes and a series of College Readiness seminars.  Armory College Prep students are provided the tools they need to complete high school; graduate and gain admittance to college.

The Armory Foundation is also the trustee of the National Track & Field Hall of Fame; an inspirational, interactive museum that pays homage to the past and present success stories of track and is constantly used to inspire future success in our young athletes.

Our Learning & Technology Center is another space in the Armory for young and old to find on going education, and have access to 35 desktop computers.

Community partners such as the Police Athletic League, Growth Development Service (year long mentoring program “to provide adolescents with positive life experiences”), New Heights Neighborhood Center (employment development center for youth) are fine examples of our commitment to community-focused efforts.

The Armory Foundation depends on the generous support of runners and community members to help sustain and grow its vitally important youth programming.
